Answers Questions About Produce
Got a question
about a particular fruit or vegetable? The Produce Marketing
Association recently launched a consumer web site at www.aboutproduce.com. that will provide the
answer. Just type in the name and a searchable database will
give you what you need to know.
The site
serves as an information resource about such topics as nutrition,
health, and fruit and vegetable storage and handling. It also
features trivia and recipes. The site is a joint project of the
Produce Marketing Association and the Produce for Better Health
Foundation.
The Produce
Marketing Association (PMA), founded in 1949, is a nonprofit
trade association serving over 2,500 members who market fresh
fruits, vegetables, and floral products worldwide. Its members
are involved in the production, distribution, retail, and foodservice

The Produce
for Better Health Foundation (PBHF) is the catalyst for creating
a healthier America through increased consumption of fruits and
vegetables. The Foundation is a nonprofit organization which,
in cooperation with the National Cancer Institute (NCI), sponsors
the national 5 A Day-- for Better Health program. The 5 A Day
goal is to increase consumption of fruits and vegetables to an
average of 5 or more servings a day to improve the health of
Americans.
